WHAT MAKES VANCOUVER SPECIAL?

Maybe it has a colourful history, evokes an emotion, or is just a great place to catch some rays. The Vancouver Heritage Foundation is on a quest to find 125 "Places That Matter" to Vancouverites.

The list of nominated places thus far includes both the famous and the infamous.  From BC Place Stadium, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen gardens, even the Penthouse Cabaret (if those walls could talk!) on Seymour St. has at least one vote.

Here is the complete list of current nominees.

Have a spot or location in Vancouver that you feel is significant? You can nominate it here until March 15.

The public will be able to vote online for the places they feel most helped shape or are most significant to Vancouver from March 16 until the city's birthday on April 6.

The 125 sites with the most votes will have a commemorative plaque installed and all the sites will be mapped with write up on the Vancouver Heritage Foundation website.

How about the Stanley Theatre?
