THE INDEPENDENT

Recently completed and perched upon the Mount Pleasant hill sits the Independent by Rize Developments. At the South West corner of Broadway and Kingsway The Independent houses 258 units ranging from studios to two bedrooms plus dens. Being on the hill and surrounded by lower rise complexes means many of the suites feature panoramic views of the city, downtown, and North Shore mountains. The first of its kind to be developed in Mount Pleasant the Independent anchors the community and provides a foundation for future developments in the neighbourhood. Like the Woodward did to Gastown the Independent provides a landmark, a meeting hub, retail shops, and homes to this vibrant neighbourhood.

It’s certainly a cool building with lots to offer so lets dive into a little more about the building, what’s in the hood and what makes this such a lively place to call home.

Building amenities include a 1,200 sqft fitness facility, a community lounge, workroom, and secure bike storage rooms for over 300 bikes. Additionally nestled between the podium and tower buildings is The Independents 20,000 sqft backyard, one of the largest private parks in Vancouver. This area includes something for everyone including raised garden beds, barbecues, hammocks, loungers, and more.

Over the last 10 years Mount Pleasant has become one of Vancouver's most interesting and fastest changing neighbourhoods. We predict you'll fall head over heels for the indie fashion, art and coffee.
