INTERIOR DESIGN SHOW VANCOUVER

For the 14th year the Interior Design Show Vancouver (IDS Vancouver) is back! Running from Sept 18th-23rd, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

As stated on their website IDS Vancouver “is the Pacific platform for all things design and is the  premier showcase of new products and furniture, superstar designers and avant-garde concepts from North America and beyond.”

The show consists of speakers, well over 100 exhibitors, and larger immersive/interactive features.

A couple features I’m personally curious to see are:

The Untitled (392 Sheets of Plywood) Central Bar : this in an installation by Origins CNC and Leckie Studio, created only using plywood without adhesives and joined primarily using an interlocking assembly system.

What the HEL? From Finland : “a trend installation showcasing Finnish design, mixing visual and societal trends in a narrative, surprising, ambient and multidisciplinary way.”

The official colours of the design show this year were chosen in partnership with Benjamin Moore.  They’ll be used on various surfaces throughout the show to “to illustrate the subjectivity of colour and all the nuances and variations therein.”
