GET YOUR ART ON AT 'THE CHEAPER SHOW'

Listen, I know that Sven, your interior designer said that 'Alabaster' would be the perfect colour to highlight the amazing architecture of your new place, but I'm going to be really honest with you...Unless you have some cool art to showcase on it, it's really just a boring white wall.

Now the decorating budget is almost blown (thanks for that, Sven!). Yeah, your 'Keep Calm And Carry On' poster is cool and does carry major historical significance, but it's hardly unique any more.

Well, you're in luck, as this Saturday is the 10th annual edition of 'The Cheaper Show.' 200 artists. 400 pieces. 200 bucks each. It's going down from 6pm - midnight at 188 Kingsway (at Broadway).

The pieces were chosen from over 1200 submissions by artists in over 40 different countries. They're all very talented emerging artists, some already quite renowned, so you can think of it as an investment. There will be paintings, illustrations, photography, sculpture, and mixed media pieces. You can see an example of the kind of work to expect here.

There are some rules that need to be followed. It costs $10 to get in ($7 for students) and it's first come, first serve, so no one is sneaking in the back door to get first pick. Oh, and every person is limited to 3 purchases. Cash only.

After the show, you can hit up the afterparty at the Electric Owl just down Main St. where you can regale anyone within earshot about how you beat that hipster in the trucker hat to the perfect piece.

The rest of the details are available here on The Cheaper Show website.

Come on, put something unique on the wall. It's Sven approved!
