Don't be spooked by the market.  I know Halloween is just around the corner, but that doesn't mean that Real Estate has to be scary too.  Yes, we had a slow summer and yes, prices have come down a little.  However, the market is healthier than the media would have you think.  Sellers are able to capitalize on some of the highest historical prices Vancouver has ever seen. Sure, they might have come down slightly from the beginning of the year (see graph below), but we can't all be lucky enough to sell at the precise peak of the market.  And for the first time in close to four years Buyers are finally in the driver's seat and able to flex a little muscle. This scenario has been nice for us Realtors too.  We are back to exercising our skill set by negotiating and lining up favourable terms for our clients which was hard to do in the day of multiple offers.  If there is one thing the graph below tells us, it's that Real Estate is a safe long term investment.  If you are looking to do a quick flip, my advice would be to hold off until the market gets a little hotter.  However, if you are looking for that dream home or the perfect little revenue property, then I think it is time to talk to your Realtor.  There are some fantastic deals out there and it is a fantastic time to try your luck.  Don't wait for the market to turn around.  You'll have lost all your negotiating power and there is nothing scarier than no negotiating power...

You don't have to buy new furniture or repaint everytime a season changes. Fall is all about warm colours and natural materials. Accessorize with accent pieces like these and bring the warmth into our home. Most of them are fun DIY projects you can do when you want to stay away from the cold weather outside.

Like so many of us, Fall is my favorite time of year. There are so many refreshing changes with this season - the leaves changing colour, the kiddies back to school, and so many health resolutions it feels like it should be the New Year.
The thing I love most about fall, though, is the fashion! Thankfully, this year’s Autumn wardrobe trends, such as baggy sweaters and colour block layering give me the green light to say “yes please!” when the Starbucks barista asks if I want whipped cream on my pumpkin-pie latte.
I love fashion trends - some stay and some go, but personally I’m happy tosee the 90’s crazy trending out…although I did rock the knee -high green Doc Martens with a plaid mac jacket - but that was then, and that's where I'd like it to stay…. so in the mean time, here are my fav 4 Fall trends for him & her.

LADIES

We’ve always been told that blue and black don’t go. Im so glad they ruled that out this season!

1.jpg

BIG BAGGY KNITT SWEATER

Pared with a skinny pant- the baggy sweater is great to hid all kinds of things.

2.jpg

COLOR Blocking

We’ve seen this a few years in a row- hard to go wrong!

3.jpg

Burgundy or some call it Chianti. It goes with everything and looks classy.

4.jpg

MENS

Subtly is best for this season- no need to head to the nearest surplus store.

5.jpg

Match or mismatch cowboy style. Harder to pull off but If you can you are on fire!

6.jpg

Brit style Chealsy boot for him.  Love love love this

7.jpg

Snazzy fresh color sneaker.

Nothing says fall like a pumpkin pie and no other baked goods is as comforting as a slice of warm banana bread and a cup of tea on a chilly day. Well move over pie, the mother of To Die For Banana Bread Erin Ireland married the two and created the ultimate Pumpkin Banana Bread or as she calls it a pumpkin pie version of a loaf.

Made with Organic bananas, dark callebaut chocolate and freshly ground nutmeg which Erin grated herself because would be too expensive to have the bakery do it! Now that's what I call baking with LOVE.
