BURNABY CONDO TOWER INCLUDES 169 ECO-FRIENDLY HOTEL ROOMS

The Vancouver Sun is reporting that Bosa developments is bringing on Starwood Hotels and Resorts as an 'element' of it's highly anticipated new Burnaby condo tower, Sovereign.

The plan will see Starwood operate 18 floors (169 rooms) of the tower as part of it's extended stay hotel brand, Element  - see what I did there in that first sentence ;)

Starwood's Element hotels are designed to be 'green' adhering to LEED standards, incorporating recycled materials and including Energy Star appliances in the extended stay rooms.

Bosa was obligated by the city of Burnaby to utilize a portion of the Sovereign site for "employment generating use" due to the development's zoning according to the Sun.

The demand for presales at Sovereign was overwhelming as all of the 202 units released in February sold in the first weekend.

The Sovereign development is scheduled to be completed in 2014. It will be Burnaby's tallest highrise at just over 511 feet.

Ahh, the line-up for condo presales - a Vancouver tradition. Good times.
